Since I already longing for my DVB-C card, wait here a few quick photos taken on the Scovery. I have broken yesterday on the fast times to the particularities of the main board once consider more accurately.
As you can see, all connections are available, but unfortunately the USB ports are only Ver. 1.1.
The sound card sheet is the bottom left one day, probably have to yield to the AVBOARD. The bracket and the Scart connector can fit there exactly pure. Top left the power supply is missing in mini design that provides just under 80 watts.
Here the housing from the front without the front panel. One still sees the old PII 400 Mhz (100 Mhz FSB) in slot 1 design. The current cooler will be wahscheinlich soon replaced with a 80 cm fan Pope, however, is to aerate the entire case.
The VDR Wiki there are even tips, the CPU be replaced by a 733MHz Coppermine. Let's see if I can find a cheap as eBay.
center Below you can see a small outlet, which offers wonderful for mounting an IrDA receiver. In addition, 4 status LEDs, including an e-mail alerts are. Let's see if they are driving and then accordingly makes

Below you can see the slot for a security card module. But that is only prepared. Can be found in almost all Siemens Business PCs. This is probably the Dremel set and installed the display.
is even more exciting color. The typical PC-gray makes the not so gorgeous in the living room. So I still vacillate between black and silver. Scharz is certainly easier on the paint, but there is a silver would better fit into the HiFi landscape. I guess I'll be there to get around but not a aluminum cover, so that the whole not to look painted. Suggestions?

as Tine Wittler just renovated a house again and the program of another station is not even worth mentioning, I'll have my time here Ideen zur Hardwareausstattung kundtun....
Wobei man sich ehrlich fragen muss, ob es sich bei diesem Fernsehprogramm überhaupt lohnt, einen VDR zu bauen....
Gehäuse:
Es gibt ehrlich gesagt sehr! viele schöne Gehäuse, die man für sehr viel schönes Geld kaufen kann. Kann man sich be rebach oder auch silverstone anschauen.....
Da die erste Ausstattung möglichst billig sein soll, werde ich einfach das vorhandene Gehäuse der Scovery weiterverwenden... und mit ein wenig Kreativität ist daraus sicherlich etwas zu machen. Es wird auch ein paar Fotos demnächst geben... Meine Scovery ist ein Auslaufmodell der BfA und hat sogar ein auf die Behörde angepasstes BIOS....
Auf sure one for 3,99 € not ask .... The computer came without RAM, FP, Cd, etc. but that would fall out anyway ...

TV Karte:
Ja, das wohl wichtigste an der ganzen Kiste.
Ursprünglich hatte ich eine DXR3 Karte und eine Budget DVB-C Karte im Sinn....
Die DXR3 Karte ist eine ältere Generation von Zusatzkarten, die einen MPEG Dekoder Chip haben. Diese ergänzen die billigeren Budget Karten, denen eben dieser Chip fehlt.
Diese Idee wurde abgebrochen.
Zum einen stockt scheinbar die Entwicklung der DXR3 Treiber und diese sind nicht unbedingt stabil. Zum anderen würde ich meine zwei PCI Slots auf der Riser Karte komplett belegen und hätte keine Möglichkeit zur Erweiterung.
Daher habe ich mich für eine Full-Featured DVB-C Karte entschieden. Das Angebot beschränkt sich hier auf zwei technotrend bzw. baugleiche Hauppauge Karten.
Dabei ist die ältere Rev. 2.1 (bzw. Model 727) die bessere Wahl, aufgrund der sehr guten Treiberunterstützung und dem Jumper2 .
Es gibt noch eine 27,xx cm lange Fujitsu Siemens karte, die gerade so in the case fits, but is the sound of this card is bad and somehow I was told the card is not really.
After much waiting, I could now buy a couple of days finally a FF Hauppauge 727 card to come in the next few days.
that therefore I have a slot free. In this slot is either an analog PVR 150 card or a DVB-C budget. The PVR150 is a card with MPEG encoder chip. This is simply put, the analog TV to DVB format or MPEG2 format.
Which card is it really well, I can not say yet, because right now the digital TV channels are feeded more ...
LCD:
I am not a professional behind the soldering iron, but still I have ventured to the Hyundai display of Pollin .
There you will get a full graphic display with 128x64 points for a mere € 7.95 (Order No. 120 292). This one needs a control board (Cat. No. 120 297), which is not easy to solder. Let's see if it works out.
AV Board:
A great invention .... Just a look at www.avboard.de. That is one day, hopefully the new edition in March. Until then, it will be a self-made infrared receiver linvdr with parts from my favorite mail order Reichelt herhalten.

Als ich meine Informationsammlung begann, fand ich sehr viele super gute Informationen. Leider waren diese meist nur auf ein spezielles Thema beschränkt und es war sehr beschwerlich sich einen Überblick zu machen. Daher versuche ich hier, mein gefundenes Wissen zu bündeln!
Soviel für heute. Jetzt mal schauen, was Günter Jauch und die Lehrerhasserin da von sich geben.

Das Thema HTPC (Home Theater PC) und VDR (Video Disk Recorder) begeistert mich schon eine ganze weile. Der Sinn des ganzen steckt darin, die multimedialen Eigenschaften eines PCs nicht an seinem kleinen Monitor zu vergeuden, sondern den Fernseher zu Hause (und ggf. dessen Dolby Surround Anlage) daran anzuschliessen.
Viele werden den Begriff Windows XP Media Center Edition schonmal gehört haben. Dahinter versteckt sich im Grunde nicht viel anderes... ein PC, über den man Fernsehen kann, Filme aufnehmen, Brennen und Musik hören kann.
Da das ganze mit einem Windows Rechner nicht nur langweilig sondern auch teurer würde kommt nun, wer glaubts, Linux ins Spiel.
Für Linux gibt es das VDR Projekt von Klaus Schmiedinger. Ziel ist dieses Projektes ist es, einen digitalen Videorekorder mit Linux zu realisieren. Dabei muss man sich VDR eher als Firmware für den HTPC vorstellen, weniger als Zusatzsoftware.
Also, um zum Punkt zu kommen, meine Vorstellungen, was der VDR in ... Wochen können soll:
Das sind bisher mal so meine Grundanforderungen an das Gerät. Die genauen Funktionen werden sich dann sicherlich ergeben, wenn ich mich durch die Masse an Plugins gewühlt habe!
Teilweise wende ich mich mit obigen Anforderungen sicherlich vom reinen VDR hin zur Medienzentrale ab, der Grundbedürfnis ist und bleibt der digitale Videorekorder.
Schaut man sich auf dem Markt um, würde man für einen ordentlichen Festplattenrekorder gut 300 € zahlen, dazu ein DVB-C dekoder nochmal um die 100 €... das summiert sich und mir fehlt der Spass sowie die Erweiterungsmöglichkeit!
Daher, lasset das schrauben beginnen

Da die Bauarbeiten in den nächsten Tagen hoffentlich losgehen, werde ich hier bald mal die ersten infos veröffentlichen...
